As we begin to think about the meaning and consequences of multiple global crises, our community must simultaneously consider how to respond and heal. This session is designed to guide attendees through the foundational science of African Psychology and to provide practical methods for putting it into practice. Learn what makes African Psychology a distinct science uniquely situated to provide the tools necessary for healing among people of African ancestry.

Dr. Nobles is the author of over 100 publications and is a globally renowned speaker. His work, Seeking the Sakhu, is a foundational text in African Psychology. Dr. Nobles reminds us that our role as healers must be in alignment with Sakhu or the study of the illumination of the human spirit. This drastically differs from western psychological theories focused solely on the study of behavior. In this session, we explore the importance of situating spirit and its illumination at the core of our work as healers.
